Very nice.

Very nice. Now I know where Part II is coming from... This song could've been a little longer, I think personally. Interesting rhythm when the song goes Metal. At first I wasn't feeling it, but then by the next part, I felt it. I think the main riff could go on for another 4 bars or so, before slowing the time down to the bridge. Other than that, I really dug this song. Is there a 3rd component to this Experimental Sleep Project?

Sonofkirk responds:

Yes, it's a little short but, if I make an album, I'll gather the three parts to make a long track (something like 11 or 12 minutes).

I really worked on the rhythm in this song. For example, at 2: it switch from binary to ternary. I like to experiment this kind of thing : ).

Yes, like I said before in the response, there will be a third part ... stay tuned !

Great!

You rock the Digital Planet Megaman style, ya know that man? This is great.

Too many sounds.

Your stuff is becoming very complex sir. This is a good thing. I'm very picky with my techno, as you know. Some of the stuff at :50 i wasn't too into, but I really dug that solo from 1:07-1:27. like the last couple of sounds you were using, at around 2:50, lol. They were low and bassy. Your bridges or choruses, were good to me. The main theme with the high synth wasn't bad. Certain things were too all over the place for my taste though. (Which may be the point seeing as the mental visual is someone Gettin' Da Power). Some of the sounds like from 2:00 on might be taking away from the piece. There's another sound that you add however which turns it into a bass solo almost. The sound at 2:37 or whatever. I like that one, but I wouldn't use the one before it... ever. The ending however, I thought was very solid!! I suppose I'm trying to say that (believe it or not), it could do with less craziness. ::shrugs:: It's just my opinion, but it was still fun to listen to. Nice job man. The stuff has potential and is improving.

Bracksta responds:

thanks for the always indepth reviews, much appriciated. i will take into acount all that you said in future music. i am really into solos right now, they make me very happy. ttyl, peace out.

Oh Hell yeah

Wow! I really like this a lot. I'm very impressed with this piece as a whole. I hear all the influences in here. Anybody who knocked this in the past just didn't get it... This song is very Progressive Metal with Dream Theater, lighter Opeth, and a little Metallica in mind i suppose.
I give you respeck Knuckles. All 5 of them. 10 Star rating sir. I really wish I heard The Sleep Pt. 1 to see what this is stemming from, but I have to tell you, this by far is one of the best things I've heard on Newgrounds. Rock on dude. Later.

Sonofkirk responds:

wow awesome review dude ! Thanks a lot. Rawk own \m/

I liked what i heard.

My only thing is that the mix is way too low. I know for a fact that these are all your midis and sounds 'cause I'm too much of a MMX snob not to notice a difference. I would honestly say that in the future just raise the levels, and feel free to take more liberties on drum parts or the piano additions that you threw in.

Nice Revision

This is what the Stage Select should've sounded like. I LOVED the Stage Select from the 1st one, but when I heard the 2nd one the first time, I was so disappointed. This cover is a good modern revisioning of it though. I enjoyed this very much Darkside =]

DarKsidE555 responds:

Yeah, I was more than disappointed about the X2 music in general...though, it has some gems. They are rare but there are some! Glad you enjoyed my re-arranged version of it! :)

Nice Groove.

Nice groove. I like hearing people do DIFFERENT covers of songs they like. 'Cause that's the point right? To be DIFFERENT? I liked how the slower tempo made Zero seem a little more Bad Ass in the walking tempo as opposed to the original rushed for action tempo. (Honestly the original doesn't do it for me much on constant loop). I also liked how the drums built up straight through the blast beats at the end. It was a nice new take on the theme.

Very Well Put Together

You're Medley was VERY WELL put together. I had an idea of doing something very similar and I just couldn't make it happen. You pulled off having all the important themes in MMX1 intersperse with one-another. I do agree that there was no Zero theme, so that was a tad disappointing, but after all, this song is for X, not Zero.
I don't know if it sounded better with that other guitar track before or not, but I can say that the product here is a little thin and on the high side for the guitars. That's the only reason why I give it a 9, but I just wanna say that I really respect the amount of time and effort you took putting this Medley together. That's why I voted you a 5.Ve

Yours is betta

This is very faithful to the original song, but I like your sounds better. It's more enjoyable when I hear this version. It's so funny how they gave Wily some sorta Spanish flare in this stage with this music.

Nice overall.

I give you props on this song because it has a lot of good things in it. The one thing i can't get over is that first synth sound, leading the whole thing off. The rest of the song gives it that Classic Megaman Vibe that the Old Midi's weren't good enough to pull off. It almost stands up to MMX4's stage select with the sounds you incorporated.

Earthbound-boy responds:

thank you very much. i am happy you went more into detail!

What's up folks. I'm the "Hidden Gem" on Newgrounds, The Metallikid. I love all things musical including writing, producing & distributing my own stuff right here on NG. Comment & Vote for me. Don't be shy.
